There's certainly lots of examples in the testsuite. The user guide just tells people how to do normal things. ;-) You certainly can't add a classpath entry if you don't a virtual file system to back your deployment. Although I don't like this mechanism and I'm currently reworking it with proper classloader metadata including dependencies. e.g. So for now, you could write a ClassLoaderFactory that just returns a preset classloader. It should be obvious why this is bad, since you're going to leak that classloader unless you have tight control on when the thing gets undeployed (either the original deployment or the deployment you are constructing). Using the ClassLoaderFactory side steps the dependency checks/rules. [Design of JBoss Portal] - Identity : no more JMX services for modules ?

Hello, in 2.6.4, I noticed that the user module, role module, etc... are not anymore some JMX service. My question is to understand better the design and way the module are intended to work : - why this change ? - why modules do not need anymore to be some jboss services ? - I guess the modules are now beans, managed by the micro controller ? is that correct ? any explaination about all that will be helpfull... and help learn more about the jmx, beans etc... I was looking at the Groovy docs (for an unrelated issue) and noticed that Groovy 1.5 has support for talking to COM components. The ESB is currently using Groovy v1.0, but if it was upgraded to v1.5, then this feature + a Groovy Scripted Gateway could provide a solution for you. Just a thought! The use of DeploymentControllerContext and DeploymentContext in the bundle facade is wrong. It should not be using these classes directly, they are implement details. The clue is the name of the class. If it doesn't contain spi then it is implementation detail that you shouldn't use directly. "import org.jboss.deployers.plugins.deployers.DeploymentControllerContext;" Ok the DeploymentContext does contain spi in the package name, but that's a mistake that will go away: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBMICROCONT-189 For a lot of what you are doing, you should be using the DeploymentUnit anyway. e.g. DeploymentUnit.getClassLoader() For the state changing, we obviously need to add methods to the MainDeployer interface (which will delegate to the DeployersImpl) such that you can move the deployment to different states. You shouldn't be doing your own "housekeeping" work on the deployments. If you're not using the VirtualFile then you need to tell it what the structure is. [Design of JBoss jBPM] - jBPM Classloading

Hi, we are using jBPM in conjunction with OSGi on jBoss Appserver and had problems with the classloading of jBPM. So we looked at the Source Code of ClassLoaderUtil.java and found out that you are actually not using the context class loader to for classloading, which was the cause for our problems. For my understanding this is common practice for libraries used in J2EE Environments. There already is a comment in current ClassLoaderUtil implementation stating that class loading could be made configurable: | public static ClassLoader getClassLoader() { | // if this is made configurable, make sure it's done with the | // jvm system properties | // System.getProperty("jbpm.classloader") | // - 'jbpm' | // - 'context' | // | // or something like Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader(); | return ClassLoaderUtil.class.getClassLoader(); | } | We implemented a patch that reflects the proposal of this comment. It enables jBPM to use the context class loader or to plug in a 'custom' classloader whose class name is defined by another system property. Classloading with the current classloader is the default, if no system property is set. We would like to provide this code to the community. Please give me feedback what you think about this.
