There is another post that is related to this one : Architecture : CMS and Identity for authorization on docs http://jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=115999 related to this Jira : "CMSAdminPortlet should use Users/Roles Module and not direct HQL query" http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBPORTAL-1499 It seems there's a need for : - extended Identity API, providing some features for the services that needs some fine grain and often access to Users and Roles (at least the feature that is bugging when using two different datasources for CMS and Identity) - Caching of the user/roles, independantly of Hibernate (working also for provisionning from LDAP...) for quick access to user and roles the question is open...
