You are using JBoss AS 4.2.0 ? As of now, i think that JBoss Forums only runs on JBoss Portal 2.6 and JBoss AS 4.0.5 As a solution you can downgrade JBoss AS, or replace the Sun RI JSF implementation in 4.2 by myFaces (see the Wiki). You should be able to embed myFaces in the JBoss Forums appllication as well.
