Some time ago before 2.6 release I was looking at portletbridge. I didn't make any real progress but I added needed libs to repository.jboss.com and created portal module ('web-clipping'). Its quite dummy - only creates portlet instance using orginal 'PortletBridgePortlet'. It was pending on my HD so I put it into trunk. Its not plugged to the main build so you need to deploy separately.
