The benefit to use JBoss MC for portal beans and portlet container is the capability to inject portal services in ServletContext attributes. We do that already today, declared in jboss-portlet.xml, but it is the injection of a proxy to the JMX mbean. Also it does not work with life cycle. Here we can make a portlet application or a portlet container depend on another portal service which provide a real dependency.
