However, is there specific reason why TreeCache has to extend ServiceMBeanSupport?

We could have just defined the lifecycle methods in TreeCacheMBean so that they get
callbacks and that's it. 

We would remove any dependencies on ServiceMBeanSupport and the
jboss.system:service=ServiceController MBean, correct?
