What I would do is start with the HA stuff now and then we can integrate into the mainline for the JIRA task. I like the SelectorStrategy idea, however, the delimeter will still have to remain as there is no way to really tell the JCA stuff what constitues a DB url unless we modified the *-ds.xml format to support a list of of Url's or something like that.
