It certainly doesn't need a re-write since it should be obsolete. The jms rar is only there for jms implementations that don't provide their own rars (e.g. the old jbossmq). The real solution is for JBoss Messaging to provide its own resource adapter. It can then use internal api to optimize the behaviour rather then the under documented ConnectionConsumer/ServerSessionPool.
