This was briefly discussed a while back ... Do we want to bind Local interfaces to the java: namespace? This would eliminate all of the logic for checking to see if a Local interface was looked up on a remote JBoss instance. If you can look it up, it's valid ... I can't think of any problems with this except it really breaks backward compatibility, which I realize isn't a goal of 5.0 but still it's a major change.
