I'd "third" adding it so the integration tests run out of the box. I wouldn't go any further than that until the MP is released. As for improvements for FTP, they're definitely worth adding, but I wonder if we should do this in 5.0 rather than retro-fit it to 4? We can obviously do the retro-fit if there's enough call for it, or one of the community members wants to give it a go.
