The callback EPR is necessary in order to correctly identify the state of the process and verify that we are doing the correct thing when the response arrives. If there is extraneous information in there then we should remove it. What is it that you feel needs 'cleaning up'? As for the process instance, I agree that it is useful if you want to cancel the process. Anything else and it should be done through jBPM.
