Why should the client have to have all the jars in server/lib in their classpath just so they can see exceptions. That suck's IMO I think we should log at the server and rethrow. Remoting wraps server-side exceptions and propagates them on the client. I found this quite useful while debugging. Actually they use a neat trick that makes the exception stack trace look continuous, so you can see the error propagation path very clearly. No matter how we do it, if something breaks on the server-side, the client stack trace should give a hint of what went wrong, not just "JMSEXception: something is wrong on the server". Julien, Could you update Eclipse project name in your new federation and jems modules to match module names. See tag in federation/.project and jems/.project. Eclipse does not let import of the project with the same name as existing in workplace. BTW few other portlet modules have the same problem. No, i was refering to state transfer because it's what i'm doing navigating the in-memory tree and dumping it to the cache loader. Ok, forget what I said about when to set the cache loader as active. These needs to be done a before doing the state transfer, othewrise, I won't be able to actually call the put operations in the underlying loader.
