ok. so i reorganized the jboss stuff again. this time, i'm able to build and deploy jbpm to jboss 4.0.3SP1 and 4.0.4.GA. the only thing required is a configuration parameter update to switch between jboss app servers. cool he ! check out the targets in jboss/configuration/build.xml and configuration parameter jboss.version at the top of build/build.properties i'll check this in asap. cause there is one more problem: the jboss repository is not yet properly filled. you can see how it works, but you'll have to put the files in place manually until the necessary binaries have been uploaded to the repo. Maybe a simpler/better solution is to add in jboss-app.xml a new tag: <module-order>implicit|strict</module-order> with 'implicit' being the legacy behaviour, and 'strict' work by simply putting the the application.xml & jboss-app.xml modules in that order. If modules from the 2 descriptors need to be arbitrarily mixed (e.g. a -ds.xml before an ejb jar), they can always be moved to jboss-app.xml (we already support this). The only restriction is a module must appear only once in the 2 descriptors. This is essentially the same with adding a new list (like unified-order) but we reuse the existing one, and add the extra flag to specify what we want. On the other hand, I would argue that 'strict' should be the default, which is the "correct" behaviour, especially in the absence of a jboss-app.xml descriptor. If an old deployment gets broken, they can simply add the 'implicit' flag. Thanks for the response, the reference guide says you can define multiple instances in the portlet-instances.xml which would solve my problem but I am unable to get it to work. It also seems like there is a typeo in that guide because there are two instances being defined but both have the same instance-id. When you create two instances of the same portlet don't you have to give it a unique instance-id? So I could have two windows defined each referencing a uniuqe instance-id of the same portlet? [Design of JBoss Portal] - Referencing Portlet in a seperate WAR file

Hi All, I just started using JBoss Portal recently and I am having a real hard time trying to figure out how to reference portlets in seperate war files. I have a portal that I have defined that contains one page (default) and I want to add some portlets that are in different war files into my portal. I've reviewed the spec but didn't see this particular question addressed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Good, I'm glad that's clear :-) It may be that I have misunderstood the discussion but my concerns were the following - talk of defining the interface in SOAP and embedding in a servlet container - talk of clustering facades for non clustered implementations While both of these may be important from an implementation and deployment perspective, neither is relevant to the service interface being defined. The priority for now is to work out the requirements for this interface and, while we should keep the implementation details in mind, these details should not distract us from the specification of the interface.
