Ooops!! I didn't implement a couple of methods in the AnnotationsRepository, specifically, the ones used for method annotation retrieveal. I wish we had one, but for now the best thing to do is completely forget about the cargo config in the ear/pom.xml file (comment it out or delete it if needed) and just run mvn install to create your ear. Then copy the generated ear to your JBoss AS+Portal install. Actually I noticed that jboss-iiop.jar was already in server/default/lib (by Scott?) The dynamic stub generation code seems ORB independent, so yes, maybe it can go in a separate jboss-dynstub.jar. The better way is to split out the dynamic iiop stub generation code from the ORB integration code. As this case shows, the dynamic stub generation (no ejbc/rmic step during development) is a useful feature even for people that don't use the all config with jacorb enabled. In this case, the user was probably using the JDK orb or some other package? http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-4927 To enable the dynamic stub generation from servlets/jsps we now depend on org.jboss.proxy.compiler.IIOPStubCompiler from the jboss-iiop.jar. I'm going to copy jboss-iiop.jar to server/default/lib, unless there is a better solution to satisfy the dependency or solve the problem in a different way. This is both in Branch_4_2 and trunk. Not changing the actual theming + layouting, just improving it. I was even hoping to get a first set of small improvement in 2.6.x. I can do most of what I need by changing layout. About the discussion on fixed width and dynamic with,the simplest way to over come a "fixed width" is to make a fixed width block detachable, seen then as a resizeable panel. It is to "fun" for me, I 'd rather change the layout but if really needed... Yes, template is correct wording for what I meant. My point of view is the one of an application developer, not the one of a user who wants to compose a page. Happy to see this is not about using a technology but defining the concept. Layout is at page level for application developper who wants to control the page rendition. JBP 2.6 already uses layout and an astute to change layout when maximizing a window. Portlet writes to windows and windows have region and index in a region. No one else than the application developper knows what rendition he wants, it could be a grid with column and row, or it could be a temporal presentation with animation, audio. So choosing a region and passing parameters is the minimum to offer and that's probably enough to keep it lighweighted. So if this is about controlling page rendition, portlet should continue to write to windows and a layout service should allow to change layout at page level, assign region and parameters at window level and finally define a region renderer to render windows associated to a given region.
