[Design of Security on JBoss] - How to set the principal name

In our application the user has a "remember me" option, which creates a cookie on their machine. If the cooky is set the token stored in the cookie is used as the username and the password is set to null. The format of the token is 'token_' e.g. 'token_test'. I have written a custom login module that checks for the token and does the necessary checks. When 'createIdentity()' is called we use the name of the user we have extracted from the token e.g. 'test'. Inside our web application, if we get the user Principal and call 'getName()' the name returned is 'token_test', when I am expecting 'test'. In my login module I can see SimplePrincipal is created correctly with 'test' as the name. Is there a way for me to see the correct principal name within my app? Thanks Peter. I'm not too sure the lazy copy approach helps here. I think it is a good idea, but won't solve the scalability issue in the original post since it will still involve a map copy of tens of thousands of entries. And this will happen every time you put an entity in the 2nd level cache. Going back to my suggestion of not actually copying the child map but only loading specific children as they are accessed, this does add a bit more complexity by way of keeping track of each child node loaded and it's status, but I think this quite effectively solves your scalability problem. i think it might be possible. first, read the process into memory. then programmatically, you could add events to the process definition that listen for 'transition' or 'node-enter' events. then you'll get the notifications you're looking for. there are various ways on how to read the process into memory. so you might have to search to find the right one. also you could consider writing a process parser and configure it as a deployment phase. that would be completely transparant, but to manage the custom configurations for that is probably harder then just programmatically reading and updating the process. I'm mapping a bean with a java.util.List type property where the bean getter returns a read-only view of the list via Collections.unmodifiableList(original). org.jboss.beans.metadata.plugins.AbstractCollectionMetaData#getValue fails here with a deployment exception since the method does not ensure the collection instance supports the optional Collection.add() operation (and doesn't fall back to default collection) *** DEPLOYMENTS IN ERROR: Name -> Error Manager -> java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException It seems rather unintuitive that the MC requires the read-method to provide a mutable collection reference and proceeds to make changes to my collection via read-method access?
