https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SCOUT-43 represents the change from xmlbeans -> JAXB. I'll start looking into it but I think this involves changing the entire JAXR stub which is not a small change. What Anil is saying sounds right for now - that AS should use the scout 0.72rc2 version, upgrade jUDDI to 2.0rc5, and we'll work on supporting JAXB so that we can move scout to the latest version. Everthing ends up as an mbean. Thanks I already looked at it. How is Barrier able to start or stop EJBs, MDBs that are not mbean and don't follow service life cycle i.e start/stop/create etc. Also, what happens if Election policy like pickSingleton has a bug and chooses 2 nodes as Master at the same time? Just my 2 cents for this. I find it scary that AS 5 will be so fragile to real life jars, but I do understand that in some cases it might be caused by actual user packaging errors. Why not why not have an an "ignoreBrokenArchives" option for all VFS that is disabled by default and then you fail with an exception saying..."oops - your xyz.jar is broken because of Blah. Set 'ignoreBrokenJar=true' in bla blah to ignore these" Then when users set that you just print warning for it instead of failing. This would allow for a hard fail, but at least users would be able to use the probably second most used database in the java world. Check with tcunning also. He has experience in scout/juddi. Any custom implementation of the IRegistry interface of scout can be done in the JBoss JAXR project. Looks good :) That's cool, now, with just jbm-core.jar you have a fully functioning messaging system with zero dependencies on anything other than standard JDK library :) Quick question - do we still need to drag in all the dependencies in build-thirdparty.xml?
