I made a copy today of 2.6 branch to 2.7 branch. - 2.7 branch is what we are going to use for developping new features such as the inclusion of PC 2.0 in it. - 2.6 will have a 2.6.5 maintenance release for bug fixes only. Ok, for now I am formalizing the API/SPI I talked about, did an implementation that I can use meanwhile (that would be reused in JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2 anyway) and most importantly writing test cases to assert the correct behavior of the implementation. once it is done, I will probably collaborate with Ales to get an MC implementation that pass the same unit tests. It will take me a couple of days before it is done and the MC implementation is a longer term effort but it would be of course nice to get it implemented in the same MC used by AS 5. All you need to do is add the WebMetaData into the attachments and make sure your deployer runs before the other WebMetaData processing deployers. These other deployers will then turn that metadata into a web/tomcat deployment. The other web deployers don't care whether the WebMetaData came from parsing a web.xml or if you created it programmatically. Where do you get the warURL? Here? - http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4123146 Who uses WebMetaDataModifier.PROPERTY_GENERATED_WEBAPP? Or what is its purpose? You don't need to create whole new deployment. You probably just need to add another deployer in the chain of deployers that modify WebMetaData/JBossWebMetaData, like Scott's MergedJBossMetaDataDeployer does. e.g. pseudo chain :-) 1) Deployer that creates WebMD/JWebMD (usually some parser) 2) MergedJBossMetaDataDeployer that merges JBoss specific inputs with common one's 3) Your modifier deployer that adds WS specific info 4) TomcatDeployer that turns WMD/JWMD into ServiceMetadata 5) Real ServiceDeployer There are of course other deployers in that chain, but those should not be relevant for you. I think that changing the layout of a page is a portal feature. Can't you do that using a portlet today to update the portal page structure ?
