very good discussion, guys and galls :-) all I know (and more) got already highlighted. what I still don't know is whether there it is more difficult to deploy seam with ejb3 versus seam without ejb3. any thoughts on that ? Manik, One big thing is I don't know what to do with the svn:/jbosscache/amazon-s3 library. It needs to be built/tagged and put in the JBoss Maven repository for the JBossCache build to work. Also, we may want to change the package name from "com.amazon.s3" to something else. Yes, the code was originally from Amazon but it's been significantly rewritten. Sure you could add a constraint | xyz:[1.0.2,) | But then how do you reproduce your build? i.e. you need to choose a specific version in your pom.xml that gets tagged in svn, but still have the open constraint in the one that goes in the repository. Has anybody tried this, does it work? If we can't have a pluggable resolver, then we must at least get an exception if there is a version conflict. It is already happening that the wrong version is showing up at the end. I'm surprised maven doesn't understand versioning (1.0.1 > 1.0.0). For peace of mind, I would go with top level explicit dependencies; and educate people how this is supposed to work. Otherwise we could be looking at 'build tragic - take2'. Thanks for detailed example. [Design the new POJO MicroContainer] - JMX property or dynamically added to DeploymentUnit?

To be able to move the ejb2 Container to an mc bean that also has an mbean registration I either need the JMX annotation to have a property name which provides the ObjectName value to use, or create the annotation dynamically and register it with the DeploymentUnit.MutableMetaData as I see that the JMXLifecycleCallback is looking to the ControllerContext.ScopeInfo.MetaData. I assume DeploymentUnit.MutableMetaData.addAnnotation(jmx) ultimately shows up in the ControllerContext.ScopeInfo.MetaData, but have not traced this all the way through yet. What is the preferred approach?
