It occurs to me that each active ServerThread that isn't executing an invocation is sitting in SocketInputStream.read(), and the default timeout is 60000 milliseconds. When the read() times out, the thread should close the socket and return to the threadpool, from which it can be reused by another invocation. Richard, I'm guessing that the tests you were running were just too short for these threads to time out ... . Does that make sense? As long as the timeout is that short, then turning on idle thread reaping may not be necessary after all. There's still the issue on the client side of unused sockets sitting around. But as long as EJBs are getting used, the sockets wouldn't go unused. Note that any EJB proxies to the same server should share the same underlying invoker and the same connection pool. I'm just wondering if UnifiedInvokerProxy was written the way it was, without calling Client.disconnect(), because the typical use case would be to keep making EJB invocations and keep the connections in use. I am trying to write an annotation called as Password (which will basically specify a name of a property). The PasswordCallback will basically read the annotation and then inject a password into the method configured in the annotation. http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/microcontainer/trunk/aop-... The JndiBindingCallback basically registers the target (mc bean) in JNDI. The JMXCallback registers the bean in the MBean Server. http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/microcontainer/trunk/aop-... http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/microcontainer/trunk/aop-... I applied it on a mc bean. I get nothing in the logs. I do not know whether it got applied. Break point unsuccessful. I am trying to find the missing hook that binds the JMX annotation and the JMXCallback. [Design of POJO Server] - Annotation for MC bean

I am trying to write a new annotation for MC beans similar to what the JMX/JndiBinding annotations do. I took a look at http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/microcontainer/trunk/aop-... Both the jmx and jndi folder have the annotation as well as a callback. I guess the xxxIntroduction class can be ignored. When I introduced my annotation on the mc bean, I saw no errors in the logs. I can see the annotation as part of the bean metadata in the beanMetadata aop deployer. Are there any other hooks that I need to take a look at? We can have whatever ComponentType we want on a ManagedObject as these are being set explicitly for the current set of MangedObjects. We should setup a Wiki page that lists the standard ManangedComponent names and their ComponentTypes, and we can start updating the ComponentType based on that. BTW: Of course I'm willing to fix it if that's the case. It's just that I've found some reference to org.jboss.server.XAResourceWrapper, so it may be the case where we will just use whatever is provider by JBAS and we would just delete the class. Are we going to use it? It looks like there is an Arjuna config where you reference the XAResource: http://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-13171 if tes, the class needs to be properly implemented.
