Guvnor 5.2.0.M1.x : Maven config fix
by Sayhi Aymen
Hi everybody,
I checked Drools 5.2.0.M1.x sources yesterday in order to look with more
insight to *Guvnor *internals.
I built the whole project with *Maven* and that was ok.
But when I tried to run *Guvnor *with *Maven *(mvn gwt:run) I was surprised
to see that the *Maven *config do not allow that, I get a lot of errors !
Thankfully I fixed that (after a hard night) and I want to contribute with
that *Maven *config fix.
Are you interested ?
By the way, I've already been *Maven *maintainer of an open source project
on sourceforge, *Gilead<http://noon.gilead.free.fr/gilead/index.php?page=thanks>
*. And I can help you in the future for anything related to *Maven*.

Google Summer of Code
by Pierre
Mark,
Thanks for the quick answer. I'll wait a bit (deadline is soon though) for your answer about Red Hat before I set things in motion here.

I'll add this to the proposed topics if we send an application (Although I see it done more nicely with a DSL in Groovy).
All the best,
Pierre

I would like to take advantage of that to develop the RIF support in Drools. Is there an application from the Drools project itself or should I apply through my university?
What I'd love to see is a common java model that both RIF and RuleML
could parse too.
I'll find out if Red HaT have any slots for google summer of code, last
year they didn't. Also Red Hat has soooo many projects and a very
limited number of slots, that if you can apply via your university, it
may be a safer bet.

Split-up: the gory details (for future reference)
by Geoffrey De Smet
For future reference, I am copy-pasting the methodology I used during
the split-up in our dev mailing list archive.
Just ignore it.
However, do take a look at the blog about the split-up, which has some
interesting numbers:

Guvnor and drools implementation - questions
by ioda100
Hi,
i have a few questions :
1) my facts are in fact java Maps, is there an easy way to deal with them in
guvnor? it's not like in the example where facts are objects and we give
guvnor the Pojo model to know what we can do with it
for example i have :
$m : Map((this["attribute1_of_the_map"] == "test1"))
How to deal with the map and have a prepopulated list of properties of the
map? And to store it in the variable $m. Without using the "free from drl"
where we have to write it by hand.
2) how to deal with global constant with guvnor?
i have something like :
WorkingMemory wm = drools.getWorkingMemory();
wm.setGlobal("resultValue", "OK");
Is it a direct way to play with global constant in Guvnor? Without using the
"free from drl" where we have to write it by hand.
3) for stopping firing rules after one rule fire successfully, do you know
if there is an option to do that?
For now i insert a boolean in the session and the first condition in all my
rules is that this boolean is there. When a rule fires successfully, i
retract it. I suppose there is a bettre way to do it?
Thanks in advance for your help

eval problem
by Nico ROEDERER
Hi,
I've got an other problem with an eval function.
I will try to discribe the path to the error.
I've got a repository where some people can put rules with .drl extension.
My program is listing this repository and execute every rule in this
repository.
At the begining, I've got a 'PatientDto' who have a property :
int nbFactRisque;
(with getters and setters)
Some rules increments this number.
In the last rule (the rules are executed in alphabetic mode) I'm testing
this number like this :
rule "RisqueNormal"
when
$patient : PatientDto()
eval( $patient.getNbFactRisque() == 0)
then
$patient.addDonnees( Constants.CLE_RISQUEPATIENT,
Constants.RISQUE_NORMAL );
System.out.println("RisqueNormal vérifié." +
$patient.getNbFactRisque() + "Facteurs.");
end
Here's my problem :
The 'Then' traitement is always executed so the eval always think that
$patient.getNbFactRisque() is equal to 0.
But the system.out.println() show me that $patient.getNbFactRisque() = 2 !
Here's the output : "RisqueNormal vérifié.2Facteurs.".
Perhaps I did something wrong ? Can someone help me ?
Thank you.
