6.0.0.Beta3

Hello everybody, The 6.0.0.Beta3 release, planned for the 24th May [this Friday] was postponed to the 28th May [Tuesday next week]. I ask you to push all commits that have to go into this release until 24th May (Friday) evening (24.00 CET), so we can begin releasing on 27th (Monday). Everything what is not pushed on the "masters" of your projects will not be taken into account for this release. Best Regards Michael

(Example changes: https://github.com/droolsjbpm/guvnor/commit/3af8b2bc46c44aa430d5af37f54d2... ) The Common UI components change is likely to hurt a little as you possibly use some of these classes. The GAV and package names have changed but class names remain the same. These could break your webapps, depending on what components you use. I've update kie-wb and kie-drools-wb. next realease 6.0.0.Beta3 on Friday 24th May

Hello everyone, We have planned the next realease 6.0.0.Beta3 for the 24th May (Friday). I ask you to push all commits that have to go into this release until 22nd May (Wednesday) evening (24.00 CET). Everything what is not pushed on the "masters" of your projects will not be taken into account for this release. To ensure a smooth release process I ask you to check if your projects build on Jenkins. If they don't please do the necessary changes and fix them. All Drools and jBPM components use the Uberfire framework. Any individual component can be used in isolation (subject to inclusion of any dependencies) by any other Uberfire compliant application. Vice-versa any 3rd party Uberfire compliant component can be used within the Kie Workbench extending its functionality. Where is this class "org.drools.agent.impl.KnowledgeAgentProviderImpl" - Drools 6

Hi, The org.kie.internal.agent. KnowledgeAgentFactory KnowledgeAgentFactory class is used to create a KnowledAgent, KnowledAgentConfiguration. 5.5.1-SNAPSHOT to 5.6.0-SNAPSHOT switch

Hi Guys, I was working with sotty in the old Drools 5.5.1-SNAPSHOT version and I've noticed that this version is no longer under development, so I switched to 5.6.0-SNAPSHOT. The 2 problems I'm currently facing are: 1.- There is no droolsjbpm-integration 5.6.x branch in github. 2.- I'm using jbpm 5.4.1-SNAPSHOT but this version still depends on drools 5.5.1-SNPASHOT. IMPORTANT: git merges

All, We noticed lately that an increasing number of git merges is happening in the Drools/jBPM codebase. Git merges can be easily identified in the "network" graph in github repo, or by using any other Git client tool, as parallel lines in the branch history. E.g.: https://github.com/droolsjbpm/droolsjbpm-knowledge/network Please note that each and every merge, while not a big problem by itself, increases the risk of overriding code changes (i.e., losing code) as well as increases future maintenance cost. If you want know more about it, feel free to ask, or just trust me on this... :) Git offers an alternative to merges in the form of "rebase". Rebase enables developers to commit code on top of the most recent change in the branch, instead of in parallel to it. It guarantees no code will be lost when doing that, and makes it easier to maintain code in the future. If you don't know how to rebase code, please read one of the many git books/documentation available on line, like: http://git-scm.com/book Also feel free to ask and I will be happy to help. There is just one case where rebase can not be used: * You should NEVER rebase a commit that was published to a public repository before. Also, the github pull request "merge" button uses merge instead of rebase. While it is very quick and easy for a developer to click on that button, please note that it introduces merges, and at the same time commits code that was not tested by the person doing the merge. It is acceptable for small code fixes, but for anything larger than a few lines of code changes, you should pull the changes into your machine rebasing them, run the tests to make sure they are still clean and only after that push the PR changes to the public repo. Guvnor split

Hi Toni, Jervis, I've started the split of Drools Workbench, Guvnor and shared components. I've moved the following to guvor/drools-wb:- - drools-wb-webapp, - drools-wb-distribution, - drools-wb-distribution-wars - drools-wb-docs - drools-wb-examples - drools-wb-jcr2vfs-migation I have updated the POMs and GAVs for these items I am doing some testing of drools-wb-webapp (both hosted and Wildfly\Tomcat distributions) at the moment. I will start to move drools-wb specific editors next. Once they are moved I will update their POMs, GAVs and package names. I hope to move on to the shared components after that. Finally I'll split the guvnor repo into separate ones for drools-wb, guvnor and kie-wb-common. With kind regards, Mike

Drools + Hibernate

Hi, While connecting to Database, we provide certain condition statements in the where clause, My concern is, Can we provide the where conditions dynamically. If so, Is it possible using Drools? Can we provide the where conditions dynamically through Drools.i.e, the flow should be from Drools to DAO layer? Is it possible to drive the flow from Drools to Hibernate providing the where conditions dynamically. I came to know that hibernate session can be used within Drools. I want the other way round. Is it possible to query the database using Drools alone? or Drools + Hibernate combination would be fine or Hibernate alone. Please guide.
