It is just as fast and doesn't have some of the limitations of Jetty (namely that most people just aren't as familiar with how Jetty is configured). I would love to see an Embedded JBoss w/ Maven. Btw, what's the story with Web Beans on GlassFish? The instructions in the Web Beans doc are empty. I could add GlassFish to this list if knew how to get Web Beans running on it.
