Hi all,
We've just finished rolling out Beta4 today, you can find the release
announcement here:

Thanks to the whole team for the hard work, we managed to close quite a
lot of issues for this release. We'll be doing another beta release to
address the remaining issues that are outstanding for 3.1. Module
leads, could you please review the open issues for your module/s for 3.1
and bump any to the 'Future' that we won't be able to address in time.
Likewise, if there are any outstanding issues that you think should be
included in 3.1 but aren't, please set a fix version of 3.1.0.CR1 so
that we can address it.

Also, I know that Marius has been hard at work on the Seam Spring
module, and is planning on releasing an Alpha shortly. I would really
like to include this in the 3.1 release if possible, and if that means a
short delay to the final release date then I think it's worth it.

Hello,
I'm trying develop branch of faces module, I've
added seam-faces-example-viewconfig on JBoss 7.0.2, and got this error on startup.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jboss.seam.transaction.TransactionInterceptor
I think https://github.com/seam/faces/blob/develop/examples/viewconfig/pom....
missing seam-transaction dependency.
Should I raise a JIRA and send a pull request ?

After adding seam-transaction in viewconfig's pom, I've a new error on startup
(see stackTrace).
This is one is corrected by removing explicit seam-security version dependency
in viewconfig's pom (it was explicited pinned in Beta2).

Also, I know that Marius has been hard at work on the Seam Spring module,
and is planning on releasing an Alpha shortly. I would really like to
include this in the 3.1 release if possible, and if that means a short delay

PrettyFaces has been upgraded in seam-bom to 3.3.0 (corrects f:viewParam issue in JBoss
7.0.2).
However it's pinned down to 3.2.0 on seam-parent and seam-faces.
Do you see a pb if I just remove both dependencies and use just seam-bom ?

module in JBoss 7.0.2.
Issues are due to WTP or m2e I think.
1. webapp doesn't work unless 'Deploy projects as compressed archive' is
checked.
When it's not checked, seam-faces-3.1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar (and its contents) is deployed
under WEB-INF/lib as a directory.
Note that I have seam-faces opened as en eclipse project.
2. didn't found an option a la Tomcat WTP : 'Serve modules without
publishing'.
Used to speed webapp startups with Tomcat.
3. error when deploying viewconfig webapp with 'Deploy projects as compressed
archive' Checked
I didn't have this error initially, it happened after importing seam parent project
into Eclipse).
Error occurs when adding (right click Add and Remove...) the webapp into JBoss 7.
Popup in Eclipse :

linked in m2e. Click on the webapp and unselect "resolve workspace
projects". Then it will pull the library from the local maven repo.
I'm not sure if you should have to make that change. Just see if that
changes the results.

We have recently checked in a bunch of goodies for AS7 and Maven. There
is no need to install m2e separately.
Make sure to check All JBoss Tools 3.3 and Maven Support at least.

2 things though (but I'm already happy as it is) :
* Error on startup when using JRE and not Jdk
Already had this error with my previous installation.
* Option 'Use workspace metadata' cannot be used
Is it on the roadmap ?
Can be beneficial for users having big webapps or big utility jars.

it is disabled, funny thing is that I always change mine
to the JBoss deployment directory.

If you could, please try JBoss Tools 3.3.M4 with a plain Java EE
Indigo/3.7

We have recently checked in a bunch of goodies for AS7 and Maven.
There is no need to install m2e separately.
Make sure to check All JBoss Tools 3.3 and Maven Support at least.
