FYI: i just refactored the enterprise beans a bit to sync up with the command service. Now i still have to do some work on the packaging (one .ear for enterprise env and one .war for standard env) Then the webapp needs to be converted to commands Then quartz needs to replace the command executor and timer executor threads stuff. Well either way we're definitely going to have to go with a patched httpunit. But I think you may be right, that using HttpUnit directly may be a great deal simpler than messing with jwebunit any more. I'll try it out and see how it is. oops.... now i see that you already answered the httpunit questions. still it is not clear to me wether jwebunit is the lib that introduces all these dependencies or is it httpunit itself ? should we consider going for the httpunit patch ? I synched up the 4.0 testcase also to use the ServiceController. Now the tests pass and I can run the test multiple times and it passes fine. While the testcase in HEAD clearly shows that once the service has "failed" to start, I cannot "set an attribute" and I cannot "destroy" the service. can you check out HttpUnit: http://httpunit.sourceforge.net i thought that jWebUnit was a convenience wrapper around HttpUnit. But now, it doesn't seem to be in the dependencies you list or in the libs that come in the jwebunit distro. can you check if the latest httpunit version has problems with parsing the XHTML ? how does the dependency list of httpunit compare to the deps of jwebunit I would take the API inconvenience if that increases the deployment convenience...
