An clues about this strange exception of Prepared statement cahce based on LRU algorithm, By increasing the size of the cache will it resolve issue .. On profiling, I'm seeing that about 11% of time when sending messages is spent in the keep alive filter. I've checked and run our build script and it seems we no longer use the output dir. You may still have it as a leftover before we switched to put everything in the build dir. Can you check the modification time of the files in your output dir to confirm they're old? I think that the output directory must be a hangover from an older build script. If you delete, that should sort it. I have noticed that an output dir is built under the tests directory, I'll change this to build to be consistent! Sometimes I have a few tests I only keep on my workspace, not meant to be committed, when I am investigating some behavior or something like that. For that, I have defined te directory "local" on the svn:ignore list under /tests/jms-tests/src I might do the same in other places. Case you also have your temporary testcases, maybe that's a place to put them. [Design of Messaging on JBoss (Messaging/JBoss)] - Why do we need a build directory and an output directory

The old build used to put all its output (jars, classes, documents etc) in the output directory. It seems this is still being used *for some things* with the new build, but a new output directory "build" is being used for other things. I think we should just have just one output directory. I don't mind what's its called but I don't think we should have two.
