Thomas, I don't agree fully with the example. The process definition is static. At runtime, instances are created from this definition (ie. class-object relation). If I need metadata, I put process variables on the instance before starting the process. Regional managers can then be picked based upon these variables. Changing this concept is bound to break some older implementations and is something that must be well-thought about before changing it... [Design of POJO Server] - Making Creators declare supported annotation types

Is there a way that we could add additional information to the Creators used in AnnotationMetaDataDeployer, getting the annotation types they are able to handle. This would help with the performance when using my AltAnnotationMetaDataDeployer (GenericAnnotationDeployer), since we would only pass-in the classes that contain at least one of creator's supported annotation. The rest of the Creator's logic would remain the same, it's just the amount of classes that they scan that's gonna be a lot smaller. And the resources path matching is done at the right place, classloading + VFS level, no need for the likes of AnnotatedClassFilter. The unit tests are now running under a minute on my box. about 40 seconds of this however is because of the package org.jboss.messaging.tests.unit.core.journal.impl. These tests are integration tests and still need moving and we also still need to write some proper unit tests for the journal stuff. An Execution is a specific execution of a process. There is however the notion of ProcessDefinition plus an associated set of meta data. For example an organization has a defined process for 'Order Processing' However, Order Processing is slightly different per region (i.e. different regional managers) It would be incorrect to force a duplication of the ProcessDefinition per region.
