with the jbpm core, it should be possible to build out all execution modes as described in http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/jBPM4ExecutionModes i believe that you are referring to the 'Memory' execution mode, right ? the direction we're thinking in for that use case is to use the ProcessBuilder to create process definitions. Probably we can leverage the JpdlParser for that as wel. That will immediately give most of jPDL features instead of having to start from an empty PVM. Maybe some dependencies on the environment configuration sneeked in here or there. Our current idea is to use methods on the objects themselves for the memory execution mode, and skip the services api's It would be great if you could try that direction and see where you run into problems. [Design of JBoss Build System] - AS Trunk : Repeated download attempts for jna artifact

While building the AS trunk, i keep seeing that during the build-number generation of each module, the following is logged: Downloading: http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/net/java/dev/jna/jna/3.0.5/jna-3.0.5.pom | Downloading: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/net/java/dev/jna/jna/3.0.5/jna-3.0.5.pom | Downloading: http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/net/java/dev/jna/jna/3.0.5/jna-3.0.5.pom | Downloading: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/net/java/dev/jna/jna/3.0.5/jna-3.0.5.pom | The net/java/dev/jna/jna/... artifact(s) are not available in our JBoss repo and not even the Maven central repo. certainly it is our ambition to realize these capabilities in 4.1 or 4.2. the most difficult part will be to manage DB schema and data migration as we build out those features. yet another post related to jbpm4 history. :P This one is related to the overall roadmap/approach towards logging historical information. Auditing and History information is one of the more critical pieces of data that needs to be persisted as part of the workflow processes. So I was wondering what the plan was towards supporting some of that stuff, eg: 1.) A task is re-assigned from 'PersonA' to 'PersonB' by 'PersonC' on 'Date1'. 2.) The DueDate of a Task is changed from 'date1' to 'date2'. 3.) Priority of a Task is changed from 'NORMAL' to HIGH. Now in v3, some of these could be tracked using things like the TaskAssignLog. There is no way to do that in jbpm4, as yet. The current approach tracks and store historical activities/tasks, but does not store any changes that might have been made to the actual task/activity except for the fact that it is completed. Changes to the activities themselves are not recorded. IS there any plan/thought as to how that will be done? Related to JBPAPP-2229, there is a request to not have the ProfileService proxy bindings available globally in jndi. It was further discussed to not use ejbs to provide the secure facade for the ProfileService. Rather, the currently unsecured remoting proxies for the ProfileService should be secured by default in the EAP, and the ejbs removed. The org.jboss.profileservice.remoting.ProxyFactory bean deployed in the deploy/profileservice-jboss-beans.xml that creates the proxies and jndi bindings. These proxies do have typical client side interceptors, but the server side component is not being secured via a security aspect. That is what should be added to the following profileservice-jboss-beans.xml beans: ManagementView DeploymentManager as well as the ProfileService bean from the bootstrap/conf/profile.xml deployment.
