Reaching the seam-dev mailing list is a nightmare

Hello, I don't know if moderators and the list manager(s) are aware of this, but this is a nightmare to post a message to the mailing list. Almost none of my message have reached the list on the first post, and some never reach it after the third 3 tentative. For those I gave up (!) I understand that this list has to be moderated and that moderators receives tons of spam and it's hard to filter messages, that people are busy doing more important things etc etc You can not image the amount of frustration this generates for a newly committer like me that need, from time to time, advises on how to act regarding the code before committing and potentially break things, or simply ask a questions that are obviously not of the domain of the general forum (Like fixing the build or the WiKi). I don't know if they are other means to ask dev-related questions, but as-is, the seam-dev list is not an answer, at least for "external" people like me as most of the message never reach the list. I hope this message will reach people that can act on this. If not ill re- post it 3 times, no more. Thanks for your time. Denis Forveille

(This is the second tentative to go through the list, hope this time it will reach the mailing list) I have committed the "default.build.properties" file with version set to v2.2.1-SNAPSHOT I hope this the only file to change. v2.2.1-SNAPSHOT builds fine on my Fedora 11 dev PC I don't know if there are other things to do, like re-configure the nightly build or change some maven files, but in this case I don't have the right to do so Pete, please add a link on the download page maybe tomorrow after the nightly build to point to this version, as I' don't have the rights to do so Thx On 08/20/2009 05:49 PM, Pete Muir wrote: > Hi Denis, > > Yes, this certainly should be fixed, I guess the build never got > cleaned up after the last release... > > Can you take care of this? Move on to Seam v2.2.1-snapshot please

Seam 2.2.GA is out since one month now. Should it be possible to move on to the 2.2.1 snapshot?, ie in the source files, change the version to 2.2.1 snapshot,setup the 2.2.1snapshot nightly build and add to the "download" page on seamframework,org page the possibility to download the "latest 2.2 unstable nightly build" Thanks

Seam security and JBoss Identity

Hi all, Anil pointed me at this article: http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/SeamIntegrationWithJBossIdentity - it describes how to use Seam with JBoss Identity, which in turn allows Seam security to use a whole range of ways of authenticating a user provided by JBoss AS including single-sign-on with other JBoss apps, and NTLM support. Need advice on what and how to commit new build stuff for the booking sample app on WebSphere v7

(This is the third try to post this messsage as it seems that the previous messages didn't go through...) Hello, In order to help people use Seam on WebSphere, I have currently ready to be committed, the artifacts to build a functional "booking" application under WebSphere v7 The artifacts are grouped under a "websphere7-resources" directory that groups the files tailored for WebSphere v7 and there is a "build-websphere7.xml" file to build the ear file. With this, this it is just a matter of running the build file, declaring a connection pool in WebSphere and deploying the ear file on WebSphere to get the "booking" application running on WebSphere v7 I plan also to review the section of the doc related to the usage of seam on WebSphere v7 as what is in there is over-complicated and there are may errors (and many jar are out opf date with seam 2.2 ...), and also to include a section on how to configuire JNDI name resolution for Seam with WebSphere v7 as it seems that many people have problems with this Q: - is the "booking" sample the right example to proposes this kind of thing? - should it be better if I move my files from the "booking" sample to the "je55/booking" sampleand make this work there? what is the difference between both? - is the structured proposed ok? ie the websphere7-resources directory that contains the files specific to was and the build-webssphere7.xml (very similar to what is done done in the "jpa" sample app) I could commit this as soon as v2.2GA is out.. Incremental hot deployment with Seam 2.2.0.GA and JBoss AS 5.1

I have tried incremental hot deployment of Java components as described on http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.2.0.GA/reference/en-US/html/gettingstarted.h... It works correctly with JBoss AS 4.2.3, but doesn't work with JBoss AS 5.1. See https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-4585 for more details. Is there any way to solve this issue? Snjeza
