Summary of a tentative to run seam-booking (from Seam 3 CR3) on WebSphere v8 beta

Here is a summary of the problems I had while trying to run seam-booking (from seam CR3) in websphere v8 beta (march refresh) I was not able to start the applications I will make another tentative when the next release os Seam 3 will be out Some of the JIRA are already resolved. Denis PS: For those who would like to try to do the same thing, edit file <app_install_dir>/properties/amm.filter.properties in WAS and remove references to packag org.jboss.seam in this file before deploying the app. --------------------------------- Class org.jboss.seam.transaction.TransactionManagerSynchronizations contains an annotation @Remove but this class in not a SFSB.. ---> SEAMPERSIST-44 Exception javax.enterprise.inject.UnproxyableResolutionException: WebBeans with api type with normal scope must be proxiable to inject. javax.el.ExpressionFactory has final methods! Access to SF.net and JBossDocs

Hi, I have released Seam Cron 3.0.0.Alpha1 into the Nexus repository, and it looks like the sync to the JBoss releases repository is coming along: https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/org/jboss/seam/c... The next steps are to (1) upload the distribution to sf.net and (2) upload the docs to /seam@filemgmt.jboss.org:docs_htdocs/seam/3. /I'm therefore wondering if in each case I can either be granted appropriate privileges or if someone with appropriate privileges can perform the task for me? Arquillian : Help needed

Hi team, I'm a bit lost with Arquillian. I created a first test in Seam-social impl project. It took me one day to correctly set up my pom to have it running in a weld embedded container (yes I RTFM) and now I have issue with injection (ambiguous injection) with a bean redefined by Seam Config. I push my code to github (head of develop branch) and the test class is org.jboss.seam.social.test.TwitterTest I launch it by a simple mvn test. Thanks for any help or clue, if you need more information tell me. regards, Antoine

Hi, Speaking of code reviews. I've just made @Asynchronous portable using an adaptation of Stuart Douglas' ThreadLocal idea, plus some InvocationContext fiddling. I tried to understand the Interceptor Spec and how it related to what I was trying to do, but I still wasn't sure exactly what was expected of me to keep the spec happy. In the end I managed to get it working by watching the behavior of the threads in the debugger and pandering to that. It seemed consistent between OWB and Weld at least, and the resulting solution works in both containers. Anyway, I'm clearly not 100% trustworthy of this code, particularly wrt being within the spec, so would appreciate some experts giving it the once-over. https://github.com/seam/cron/tree/master/spi/src/main/java/org/jboss/seam... seamfaces UIInputContainer problems

Hello guys, Im working on the issue https://issues.jboss.org/browse/SEAMFACES-93. I did some tests and it seems to be a problem with mojarra implementation, theres a registered issue about that: http://java.net/jira/browse/JAVASERVERFACES-1991 which is linked to http://java.net/jira/browse/JAVASERVERFACES-2040 that has a patch but was not applied yet. Brian suggested to use a workaround with facets as suggested in 1991 JSF issue, at least until we have an applied patch for that. TCK-style testing for Seam Cron Module

Hi, The Seam Cron module has many providers and I'd like to test each provider by reusing the same test suite (Arquillian), but just having a different provider on the classpath . Kind of TCK style I think. So I would have several provider projects, plus a tck project containing all the common test classes. I guess then each provider project would depend on the tck (scope: test) so that the tck tests, plus any of its own unit tests are all run during that provider's test phase. My concerns with this so far are: 1. I think I will need a test suite with the test classes in src/main/java (rather than src/test/java) so that the provider can get those classes onto its own classpath during testing. Will Arquillian work OK like that (ie: does it have maven integration which specifically looks under src/test/java only)? 2. The classes in the test suite have a hard-coded @Deployment, and I'm not sure how I'd go about customising that place a different provider class on the classpath. I don't want to have to force my providers to extend every test case just to customise the deployment. 3. Am I going about this all wrong? Cheers for any advice you can give me. Pete R
