Guys,
As some of you know, Seam Social project was initiated because of Spring Social and
Lincoln (he made me develop it because he had some other obscure project to forge ;-)).
Today, Spring social (leaded by Craig Walls) is one year older than Seam Social and a lot
of code in this project could benefit mine. My question is "can I get this code
?" (Apache 2 License) and if I can "How do I proceed ? Legally and
diplomatically ?". Thank for your feedback

IMO just do it ;-) If you find bugs in Spring Social contribute back to it. If they
don't get accepted then we have to think...

IMO just do it ;-) If you find bugs in Spring Social contribute back to it. If they
don't get accepted then we have to think...
I actually played with Spring Social a bit in December. :-)
I extended some FB functionality, along with proper tests, etc.
Did a pull request + described my intention on forum --> zero reply what so ever,
either on git pull or forum.
So much for community, hence I suggest we don't think too much. ;-)

Depends on which repository are you using - the one at gitorious has been abandoned, and a
lot of projects are currently maintained on github
You want to use https://github.com/SpringSource/spring-social
Pulls (or merge requests) never went well in gitorious, AFAICT.

Ok I'll take what I need. But what about License mention in those files. I guess I
have to mention the original author but what about the original project ?

Leave the @author tags intact, attribution is handled by the notice.txt
that we distribute with all modules. Copyright is the only thing you
need to be concerned with here, the project that the code was in doesn't
matter.
