Hiya Tim. I have not committed anything to svn as I felt the decision on how best to handle this should come from the messaging team. :-) There are two other shutdown methods which could be used depending on what you wish to achieve. The choice of shutdownNow was only made to test the fix. My instinct would be to let the queue drain using shutdownAfterProcessingCurrentlyQueuedTasks rather than to use the shutdownAfterExecutingCurrentTask. Agreed. Ok, maybe an early impl like that could be quite feasible. Won't be something like Terracotta's intercepting synchronized blocks on the JVM level and performing similar "remote" synchronizations via their "hub", but a more specific scenario focused on locking nodes in the cache based on our existing lock strategies. It's simple if you know the names and the possible values of the variables that contain user input data. For example we generate the hsqldb-persistence-service.xml with the velocity template http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/installer/jems-installer/trunk/templates/j... based on the $database variable. (Even though the file name remains "hsqldb-persist.." the contents are overwritten.) The $database variable (and most other variables) are being created and assigned in the user input panels defined here http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/installer/jems-installer/trunk/userInputSp.... Here we define the forms and the controls (each control is mapped to some variable). Once the user fills out the forms in the panels (all variables set), during the file-copy phase the .vm templates are processed. BTW I couldn't see your change for the QueuedExecutor in SVN - I assume you haven't committed it yet? Discussion of: http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBREM-726 When using the bisocket transport the creation of non control tcp connections is done in a retry to loop to prevent failures which may happen when trying to create connections in Windows (known windows bug). However creation of the tcp connection to be used for the bisocket control connection does not appear to be protected in the same way. This can cause JBM intermittent test failures when running on Windows.
