Isn't preferredMaster static and should be defined at jboss startup time. Is there something like that in Jboss 4.2. Also, is there any other way or mechanism that can be developed to dynamically tell service to run on Node D (New node). Note: This service depends on Barrier. I am also curious to know if xml descriptor file that defines the Barrier/election ploicy etc. is read dynamically or is it just at startup time? In AS 5 you can use the PreferredMaster thing I described in the other thread to say Node D should be the master if it is available. That's the only thing that's along the lines you describe. Thanks for your comments, but what should it actually be? #1 ProcessDefinition + Process #2 ProcessDefinition + ProcessInstance #3 something else completely Generally, its a good idea to come up with an alternative suggestion if a given proposal is no good for some reason i.e. I don't like Foo because ... I don't know if anything is using KernelLocator. Its not naming that is causing this, its the org.jboss.util.loading.DelegatingClassLoader calling getParent() outside of a privileged block. The naming layer has obtained the TCCL in a privileged, and its a DelegatingClassLoader.
