DelegatingClassLoader (both the common and integration versions) needed to have the priv block for the getParent() call. Object it's trying to serialize when the NotSerializableException is thrown is a Proxy to a following CompositeValueSupport object whose toString() looks like: CompositeValueSupport: metaType=[MutableCompositeMetaType{org.jboss.metatype.api.values.CompositeValue items=[name=name type=java.lang.String], [name=type type=java.lang.String], [name=value type=java.lang.String]}] items=[name=SimpleMetaType:java.lang.String:UserName,type=SimpleMetaType:java.lang.String:java.lang.String,value=SimpleMetaType:java.lang.String:sa] When it hits the h field of the Proxy, which is of type CompositeValueInvocationHandler, the exception is thrown. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Please let me know if there's something I can do to get past it. If it's a bug, I'll be glad to create a JIRA for it. I did not propose anything adittionally, because the original one (with Instances appended) compared to jusr Process was wat we were talking about. Sorry if that was not clear (although Tom and Ed got that). With regard to the code snippets, These methods are in our case 'hidden' in a Process Access Object, so not used in many places. The fact that it is shorter (and yes, looks better) is not that big a deal. [Design of POJO Server] - JBAS-6199, profileservice-spi.jar location

An issue we discussed during the jon/console call was extracting out the profileservice-spi.jar so that the console projects and a testsuite can be built against it. It also helps with avoiding unintended spi changes. Right now this artifact is part of the jbossas/system module. The system module contains: - profileservice spi - profileservice bootstrap - profileservice profile/repository impls - mc bean deployment managed object stuff - a few non-profileservice beans I want to pull the profileservice-spi assembly and code into a separate project. It should probably be under integration.
