7.6 status

Hello all,
We have decided to delay the 7.6 release until early next week. The additional time should give us more time to refine the GSSAPI logic and to optimize the replication logic. CR2 should be posted soon and should be representative of the final release. Also 8.0 work is proceeding nicely. With the first beta of AS 7.1 released we have a fairly stable development target. We will delay releasing a 8.0 alpha until the first CR of AS 7.1 is available (currently scheduled to be a Christmas present).

7.6.x branch and trunk

Hello all,
The 7.6.x branch has been created. Any 7.6 checkins should be done there. Trunk will have the AS7 changes merged in later today.
Also I've been doing some cleanup of JIRA issues. Some of the old issues have been resolved or at least updated to ensure that we're not just letting them sit. Also a new version was added called "Open To Community". This is identical to what the https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7 uses to track valid issue that are unlikely to get core contributor attention. We'll continue to work on the unscheduled issues to ensure that they are bucketed to a version, resolved, or moved to "Open To Community".
We will likely be adding an 8.1 release target as the 8.0 feature work should be extremely focused. I'm hoping that we can get out an alpha by the end of the month.

Teiid 7.6 Beta2

Teiid 7.6 Beta2 is now available - http://www.jboss.org/teiid/downloads. It corrects several issues with Beta1 and adds the ability to specify source hints in user and transformation queries. CR1 is tentatively targeted for 11/16, so any early feedback would be good.

7.6 Beta2 or CR1

Hello all,
I'll have the source hint (TEIID-1726) changes ready today. That puts us in pretty good shape for a CR1. However, it was brought to our attention that Beta1 was not quite there as it had issues with buffer configuration and replication. Both of these have been fixed. We are still working through validating the GSS logic and have a proposal to include initial support for Hadoop/Hive. Given those factors I'm inclined to release Beta2 tomorrow and extend the target for CR1 until the 23rd. Let me know if you have any concerns.

I'm targeting CR1 for the 11th with a release date that will slip further into November. It will be exciting to switch our full focus onto AS 7 after this.
