7.3 CR 1 status

Hello all,
After conferring with the Teiid Designer folks it looks like we can proceed with the 7.3 CR 1 release tomorrow. It also looks good for them to move quickly onto their 7.3 release. Remaining feature work in our 7.3 bucket will get pushed to 7.4, which will also be open for business on trunk.

Teiid 7.3 CR 1 update

Hello all,
It seems best that we look at delaying CR1 a little longer at least until Designer has had a chance to start on the integration of the new updatable view feature. I'm hoping that we will get enough feedback by the start of next week to do the CR then. Regardless let's plan at branching then anyway so that development can start of 7.4.
There will also be a beta 1 release today.

8.0 release planning

Hello all,
It is expected that 7.4 development will overlap with the initial 8.0 release work. The previous release drivers for 8.0 were around embedded mode and JBoss AS 6.0 usage. To facilitate a faster release we are looking at only initially tackling JBoss AS 6.0 usage (there will still be time for minor enhancements and removal of deprecated functionality). Any other major enhancements would be deferred as needed into minor releases in the 8.x series.
This should also make it easier also for us to turn our attention to AS 7.0 as it picks up in usage.
Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Lets shoot for a CR and being feature complete on the 12th. If we get another couple of forum issues / features done in the near term then I'll post a beta release on Thursday night.
