Hello all, Teiid 8.4 CR1 is now available: http://www.jboss.org/teiid/downloads This is shaping up to be quite a good release both in terms of new features and performance improvements. Read more about it: http://teiid.blogspot.com/2013/05/teiid-84-cr1-available.html Devs - we'll create an 8.4.x branch today, but will hold off on converting master to 8.5 until we're a little closer to final and/or work is ready that isn't targetable to 8.4.1. Teiid 8.4 status

So we are nearing when a candidate release is needed. Here's my breakdown of the current issues: Mostly Complete: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2471 pluggable permissions https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2329 mongodb https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2462 ws-security payload (not committed) Non-blocking or supplemental project issues that will be pushed to 8.4.1 if not resolved (unless someone says otherwise): https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2451 rhq tweak https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2398 web console vdb display issue https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2472 new security quickstart https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2390 xml/json production improvements (should push today to 8.4.1) https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2424 osgi bundles (should push today to 8.5?) Features/Enhancements Not Yet Started: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2381 expanded source hint - I believe this to be important for the 8.4 release as there are multiple users looking for this functionality. Delaying the CR until Friday should give me enough time to get an initial implementation in. https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2139 common expression caching - Given the complexity and other issues superseding this one, I would vote for pushing to 8.5 https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2336 arraytable pushdown - I vote for pushing to 8.5 Remaining Issues: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2480 script issue (not really our problem) https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2507 better lookup / mat view scoping - ideally this should be worked prior to final and should lessen the need for TEIID-2139 https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-2483 admin api domain error Let me know if you have any thoughts or want to do a meetup to synch up as well. Teiid 8.4 Beta2 status

Hello all, I would like to get out Beta2 either tomorrow or Thursday now that the initial column masking implementation is in and a good number of issues have been addressed over Beta1. Let me know if there is anything that needs addressed before cutting the release. Steve
