All of this was discussed at our AS6 dev meeting, where David even
walked through javadoc. Only minor changes have been made to what was
presented.

Which contracts are you referring to? The VFS2 contracts? Those had to
be changed, as they are a source of a number of problems (as discussed
previously). Further nothing will be merged into any mainline tree until
we have ensured the work is solid.
