Adrian posted a good response that I think highlights the direction we should be going. Namely that we do not require OSGi metadata for a JBoss Service to be exposed as an OSGi service. However, we also should support the ability to deploy components that are written as pure OSGi services. I was referring to the ability to run OSGi services on AS, not run AS on OSGi. The problem with the latter is that OSGi is a limited subset of what the MC can do, so doesn't meet the needs of AS.
