RE: [JBoss-dev] Has Jboss Common a JIRA project?
by Ruel Loehr
So just to restate:
We need to do the following:
1) Create a release of common which will work for both head and 4.0 (this will require code change in JBossAS 4.0)
2) Setup testsuite
3) Create a 2.0 version
4) Refactor .....

This brings more questions to me:
1) shouldn't common have its own testsuite?
2) how the JBossCommon versions will relate to the JBossAS versions?
Now we have in repository.jboss.com snapshot & snapshot-Branch_4_0
And the svn repo has all the branches carried over from jboss cvs.
Do we need all those, if we start off with a jboss-common release 1.0,
compiled with jdk1.4, that can be used in both brances?

Common has been in the jbossas cvs tree and that is where the tests are.
With the breakout this needs to be fixed.

1. really surprised me actually
2. I'm in favor of as few branches as possible (as a user) esp for such
a small set of tools

RE: [JBoss-dev] Has Jboss Common a JIRA project?
by Scott M Stark
Yes, common needs to be refactored as we have talked about and unit
tests added to this project. The common 1.x versions need to be jdk1.4
compatible. If we are getting into java5 based common features we need a
common 2.0 version. That could be the current trunk with the 1.0 in a
branch.
