In some effort to address frequent user feedback that our logging is
difficult to weed through, I'm considering changing the server info dump
to something like:

Do we like the additional whitespace to separate this stuff out from the
rest? We've done a similar thing in EJB3 where we print out the target
JNDI names.
Ultimately we should probably look at each INFO statement on AS boot and
decide if it should really be there or not.

Any chance you could print these as
*relative* locations to i.e. current
working directory or HOME_URL instead of full canonical names which is
very redundant and hard to read ?

Well, they're backed by java.net.URL. So we can add some logic to pull
out the String form and strip out some common base if you'd like, just
for the logging.

As far as i know, most of those URLs can be overridden/configured by the
end users and need *not* always be relative to the JBOSS_HOME. So i
guess logging the entire path would be correct.

If they are not sharing the same
base they will of course be printed
with full urls...that is the beauty of relative paths ;)

IMO, this change is good since these log messages stand out from the
other normal logs.
On a related note, looks like the "ReleaseID" log missed out from these
messages? I don't see similar log message any more on current 5_x branch:

No whitespace, please. It makes parsing of log files harder, too.
